Residential DSL Plans

There are many different flavors of DSL technology depending on many different factors.  If you'd like to learn more about DSL in general, check out our new Tech Glossary!   You'll find it filled with information which can explain all about this new and exciting technology.

For our residential customers we chose to go with ADSL.   What does this mean to you?  ADSL was originally designed by the telephone companies to provide video-on-demand to compete with the cable television providers.   As it turns out, this new technology also allows you to get connected to the Internet at incredibly high speeds over the same old slow telephone lines that you have been using all along for your modem!  ADSL is faster getting data from the Internet   (downloading) then it is sending data from your computer to the Internet (uploading).  This works out well for the typical residential user since most of the data is usually downloaded from the Internet to the computer (like with Web browsing).

This new ADSL technology does require a new type of modem to be installed in your home.  We will provide you with the modem
