What is "Web Hosting" you ask? Web
hosting is a term used to describe the service involved with placing your web site on the
Internet for others to view. Basically, you upload your web site files to our
Internet servers and we display them to the world (or "Host" them for
you). Once the pages are uploaded to our Internet servers anyone, anywhere in the
world is with Internet access can view your web pages!
- What do I need to get started?
Well, to start with you're going to need the
following 4 items: A Website, A Domain name, connectivity to the Internet and a Full

- What's all this about a
"Domain Name"?
A Domain Name is an Internet address used to access
your Internet site, kind of like the Post Office uses the address on a letter to make sure
it gets to you. The Domain Name for your business would be www.yourcompany.com.
No two individuals can have the same Domain Name.
- What value added extras do I
receive with my Website hosting package?
- Unlimited e-mail aliases such as
yourname@yourcompany.com
- Automatic Website search engine registration (with
most plans)
- Free Domain Name registration (not including
InterNIC fees and available with most plans)
- Automatic website statistics updated daily, weekly
or monthly depending on what plan you choose
- Included CGI scripting - choose from our supplied
CGI scripts or create your own (with most plans)
- Do I get a dial-up account with
my Website hosting package?
Our Website Hosting service is a separate service
from our Dial-up Internet access but we do provide you 1 unlimited dialup account with
most of our plans for Internet connectivity and website management.
- Can I use MS FrontPage with my
Website?
You can use MS FrontPage with several of our
Website hosting plans. All you have to do is send us an email or give us a call and
ask that they be activated. We can't provide support for the actual program, any
questions regarding MS FrontPage should be directed to Microsoft.
- What does traffic have to do
with Website hosting?
In Website terms traffic is the amount of data that
is sent to and from our Internet servers while people are viewing your website or while
you are transferring pages to our server. For most businesses 1000 MB of traffic per
month is more then enough, but we want to make sure so even our basic plan starts you off
with 2000 MB per month! What happens if you go over 2000 MB per month? You
will be billed $.10/MB for each MB over your traffic limit.
- How much storage space do I
really need?
This is not an easy question to answer since it
really depends on what type of content your website will have. Depending on how
graphically intensive your site is, and on how long you consider a web page to be, 20 MB
will hold anywhere from 2,000-6,000 web pages, that's a lot of pages!
- How do I register my site with
search engines?
There are several ways to do this. You could
visit each search engine manually and enter your information. This could take a
while since there are hundreds of search engines in use. Or you could use our Search Registration program and let
us register your website with over 600 search engines all at once! This service is
included with some of our website hosting plans or as an Add-on service to our website
